Hey friends! If you follow my Instagram stories, you probably saw my everyday makeup routine tutorial earlier this week. If you missed it, don’t fret – you can always view my story highlights.
Anyway, I wanted to share the products I mentioned in the video, and link them to this post in case y’all want to purchase any. The collage below has every product, numbered in the order I apply for your reference.

First things first – Primer! I start by applying my primer to a clean, moisturized face. The primer I use is Murad Invisiblur™ Perfecting Shield Broad Spectrum SPF 30 PA+++. I discovered this primer last May shopping with my mom at Sephora, and immediately fell in love. The consistency of this product is similar to several silicone-based primers on the market, however; it’s not made with silicone. So you get the blurring effect, without the enlarged pores at the end of the night (and all the people said AMEN!)
I like to let my primer sit for a minute, or two, before applying my foundation. This gives the product an opportunity to melt into your skin, helping to create a barrier to ultimately achieve a smooth surface for your foundation.
Second step is foundation! I know I mentioned on my video how amazing the ESTÉE LAUDER Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation is. I honestly can’t say enough good things about it. It is EVERYTHING. I have tried sooooo many foundations on the market – everything from high end, to drugstore, and nothing, NOTHING wears as beautifully as this foundation. And the best part is, it truly is long lasting. I wear my makeup for 12+ hours most days, sometimes longer, and it never moves. I get so excited talking about this foundation sometimes – I want to yell it from the mountain tops for everyone to hear, and try! Just trust me on this one. Go get yourself a bottle, I promise you won’t regret it.
After applying my foundation, I go in with concealer. I almost always wear concealer a few shades lighter than my foundation, to highlight my under-eyes, forehead, the bridge of my nose, top of my lip, and my chin. The concealer I use, and swear by, is none other than Tarte Shape Tape . I have used Shape Tape for 2+ years almost exclusively. There have been times when I tried other concealers for a day or two, but I always always always come back to Shape Tape.
Once I have applied my foundation and concealer, I use a damp Beauty Blender to press those products into the skin. This sets the product, helping to avoid any streaks, to give the airbrushed look to the face. This step is key. I repeat, THIS STEP IS KEY!
Next step is to set my concealer! It is so important to lock that product in place so it stays all day. Over the years, I have tried so many setting powders, and I’ve really liked a few, but the KAT VON D Lock-It Finishing Powder is by far my favorite! I buy mine in the shade Fair, which is essentially WHITE. The reason for this is to keep the parts of my face that I highlighted with concealer, as light and bright as possible. This makes me look bright-eyed and fresh-faced and all the things we hope to come by naturally, but don’t!
After I have set my concealer, I take a big fluffy powder brush like this one, and apply a translucent powder to the parts of my face that I did not apply concealer to. This time of year, because I’m so pale from not being in the sun, ever, I mix my Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder in the shade Fair, with Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer in the shade Light.
Once I have applied powder to the rest of my face, I move on to bronzer. Right now, I am L I V I N G for HOURGLASS Ambient® Lighting Bronzer in the shade Nude Bronze Light. I honestly can’t get enough of this product. I love so many Hourglass products, but this bronzer is HANDS DOWN my favorite. The richness in the color – it’s not too cool toned, but not too warm, either. It’s the perfect combination of tones, and my goodness does it blend like a DREAM! If you don’t already have this bronzer in your makeup bag, stop what you’re doing and go get it. Right now. Run, don’t walk.
After bronzer, I add a luminizing powder, also by Hourglass, to lighter points of my face. Essentially adding a translucent shimmer to the parts of my face that I applied the concealer and Kat Von D finishing powder. This product, the HOURGLASS Ambient® Strobe Lighting Powder in the shade Incandescent gives my skin a radiant, dewy, youthful glow. It has to be made from crushed up angel wings it’s so ethereal. There’s really no other way to describe it.
Now, everything I have mentioned up until this point never changes. I apply the aforementioned products in the exact same order, using the exact same brushes/sponges, every single day, without fail.
Once that portion of my routine is complete, I move on to eyebrows, eyes, blush, highlighter, mascara and lipstick – and finish off my look with setting spray. This part of my makeup routine changes DAILY. This is the part where I get creative and mix things up a bit.
For the purpose of keeping my video tutorial short(ish), I didn’t do eyeshadow or even highlighter (gasp!). I filled in my eyebrows, applied my blush, then finished off the look with mascara and lipstick. The blush I used in my tutorial is a mix of the two shades in the HOURGLASS Ambient Lighting Edit – Volume 4 palette. For my mascara, I used LANCÔME Monsieur Big Mascara, then added my current fave lipstick; KAT VON D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in the shade Lolita.
So that’s it! My every day makeup routine broken out step-by-step. Easy-peasy lemon squeezy, ay!
